Today is Friday. Here are a few things I thought worth sharing this week:
I have been organising a series of online adult coaching classes. I am currently teaching adult players who are ECF 70 to ECF 190 in groups of no more than 10. These have been successful face to face, and now it’s even easier to organise! If you would like to join us check this page - https://chesscircuit.substack.com/p/improve-your-chess.
Online tournaments seem to be growing in popularity, and more so as the weather changes. This weekend I am organising an online congress, and in a few weeks I am running a weekend of rapid chess and blitz for the French - but anyone can participate! Check this link - https://chesscircuit.substack.com/p/how-do-i-find-tournaments and let me know if I have missed anything useful!
Why you need to start watching online chess commentary. In brief, there is some amazing coverage out there, for free. You can find a summary of resources about tournaments offline and online here. If you only do one thing, go to TWIC - https://theweekinchess.com/ and check the panel in the middle, “watch live games”.
I have just recorded a new podcast, which is an audio version of Ben Graff’s review of Game Changer (10 minutes) plus we will add a discussion of Matthew Sadler and Natasha Regan’s previous work, Chess for Life. If you have time, download the Anchor.fm app and favourite https://anchor.fm/thechesscircuit, and let me know what more you’d like to hear and I will do my best to deliver!
