The Mindsports International Chess Festival returns this August

...and it's bigger and better than ever!

Dates are 13-18 August 2025 at the London Mindsports Centre in Hammersmith.

There will be an International Open with title norm opportunities. Some notable changes for this year!

- The capacity has been increased from 65 to 120 participants,

- Double the previous prize fund - now £4,000 with a £1,500 first place prize!

- Time Control is 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move 1, with an additional 15 minutes after move 40. A new second period!

- The rating restriction has been lowered from 2000+ FIDE to 1900+ FIDE Standard/Classical rating.

- 3 single round and 3 double round days = 9 rounds. 10am & 4pm starts, with single round days starting at 2pm, and the last day is a 10am start.

There will additionally be three night blitz tournaments on the 13th/15th/18th August each with a £300 prize fund with £100 for 1st place!
