Sunday afternoons at the Holiday Inn, Kensington High Street, W8 5SP
Central London FIDE and ECF Rapid Chess, FORMAT - Open, Under 1700 and Under 1450 swiss tournaments, 6 rounds, 20 mins each plus 5 seconds a move.
I am pleased to announce a new rapid event on the chess calendar! Our next dates are 10th July and 31 July 2022. Please forward this email to any chess players who may be interested.

A 6-round FIDE rated & ECF rated rapidplay in sections played in a Zone 1, Central London location next to Kensington Underground.
Time control is 20 minutes per player PLUS 5 seconds added to the clock for each move
Entry fee for all events is £30.00.

Central London FIDE and ECF Rapid Chess
The events will be in the Breakfast Room of the Holiday Inn Hotel, Kensington. Just walk through the lobby to find the playing area. Round 1 starts at 12.30pm and the event finishes no later than 6.30pm. Parking is available on the street but read the notices carefully and do not park on resident’s bays.
The prizes in the Open are £200, £100, £50 plus a rating prize of £50. The prizes in the Major Under 1700 and Minor Under 1450 section are £100, £50 and a rating prize of £50. Cash prizes will be shared.
No age restriction on entries.
Free entry to Grandmasters and International Masters (choose “pay on the day”)
If you want to play in the Major or Minor then your ECF and FIDE ratings have to be below the line in both lists. We may have to move you between sections based on your most up to date rating.
We take entries online, and you can then pay by bank transfer or pay on the day. We have the option to pay by PayPal and pay by card on the day.
COVID policy: Face coverings are optional, players must either wash their hands or use hand sanitiser every time they enter the playing hall. Sanitiser & spare face masks will be provided for players.
