Hampstead (virtual) Chess Congress

Our next online tournament is on Tornelo, Saturday 3 July 10am to 4pm (three rounds) and Sunday 4 July 11am to 5pm (two rounds), and the event is rated by the English Chess Federation.

tournament structure: it’s a five-round swiss tournament
rates of play: each player gets 60 minutes for the game, plus 10 seconds a move
times of play: Saturday at 10am, 1pm and 4pm / Sunday 11am and 2pm
byes: you can ask for half-point byes in up to two rounds
ratings to be used: we will be using the new ECF rating list to decide seedings for players and eligibility for the U1700, then any other information we can find!

We play on Zoom, so there is a nice tournament atmosphere!
We have breakout rooms and your own analysis boards online to use!
We will send you the results after the event by email with the PGN file of all the games!
All the games are rated on Tornelo instantly so you can see your performance!
If you can’t make one of the days, just register and we can sort it out - I will give you two half-point byes on Saturday, for instance. There are no cash prizes, and all participants have to be on Zoom while they play.
