Good News and Bad News

The bad news;

Thanks to a certain big event taking place tomorrow, there is no Golders Green FIDE Rapid this month, apologies. The church is holding a party…

I also received this email from the organisers of the Mill Hill Chess Congress;

"Good afternoon,  Due to the Copthall School inadvertently double booking our venue for the weekend 13-14 May 2023, we have had to cancel this month's Mill Hill Congress.  There will be a Standard Play London Chess League Congress running from 2-4 June 2023 at the Mindsports Centre. We had hoped to introduce a new Under 1000 section this month!

The good news

I have spoken to John Sargent, the  organiser of the London Chess League Congress, where I am the Chief Arbiter and which is taking place at the lovely Mindsports Centre in Hammersmith from 2-4 June, and they would be happy to host our Under 1000 event on the Saturday and Sunday. Yay! Check the calendar for all the details.

For rapid chess enthusiasts there is Northampton on Sunday 7th which is already almost full, there are several Muswell Hill tournaments plus a Kensington Sunday 21 May or Golders Green Saturday 17th June to look forward to.
