The Northampton Chess Rapidplay is fast approaching on Sunday the 7th of May.

Returning after a successful tournament on the 12th of February we now have 4 sections - Open, Under 1900, under 1500, Under 1100

The venue has a capacity for up to 150 entrants and offers an increased prize fund value of £1000. All games will be Fide and ECF rated, giving players the chance to improve their ratings.

We received some great feedback regarding this spacious venue, as there is plenty of room in the playing area and an even larger separate lobby space for post game analysis or relaxing until the next round.

We have water dispensers, coffee machines, vending machines and microwaves avaliable for use to make your day as comfortable as possible!

Northampton being the "home" of Rapidplay chess format in England, it seems to be the perfect location to host similar events.

Transport links via train just 1 hour from Birmingham and London. All-day car parking on site for £1 at the University of Northampton - Creative Hub.

The Sunley Hotel is a few minutes walk from the playing venue and avaliable to book for those wishing to wake up refreshed for a full day of chess!
