Our regular Hendon blitz evening returns with a fast and friendly FIDE-rated blitz tournament. Expect plenty of exciting games, a competitive field and a welcoming atmosphere. Blitz events are ideal if you enjoy sharp tactical chess and want to play several games (6) in a single evening. 10 minutes per player.
Golders Green FIDE & ECF Rapidplay – Saturday 7 March, 11:00am
This rapidplay tournament is both FIDE and ECF rated, giving players the opportunity to play several serious games in one day with internationally rated results. Golders Green is an easy venue to reach and attracts a good mix of club players and strong competitors.
Muswell Hill FIDE Chess – Tuesday 10 March, 10:30am
Our regular chess day at The Clissold Arms in Muswell Hill continues to grow in popularity. There are two sections:
• Rapidplay tournament with prize money
• FIDE-rated standard section with two longer games
The venue offers excellent food and a relaxed setting, making it a very enjoyable day of chess.
Army & Navy Club FIDE Congress – 13–15 March x 5 games
One of the highlights of the month is our Army & Navy Club FIDE Congress, held at the prestigious club in St James’s, central London. The event features multiple sections and a full weekend of classical chess in an elegant and historic setting.
This congress will be suitable for players 16+ who don’t mind a formal setting and will be a memorable experience for players who enjoy serious tournament chess.
